OFFICIAL OPENING: ‘Northside WIndow’ at Nikolaj Kunsthal

2018-06-27

Our latest demonstration project to open is “Northside Window” at Nikolaj Kunsthal, in Copenhagen.

The work was created by Arthur van der Zaag in collaboration with Lighting Metropolis and AAU Lighting Design. The installation can be experienced from the outside after dark and moves in the border between light and video. The beautiful windows in the north-western corner of the building are used in the work to create a story about the window, and especially what goes on behind. The demonstration project is another result from the EU-funded innovation project Lighting Metropolis to develop, test & demonstrate new and innovative lighting solutions to make our cities more liveable and sustainable. The lead partner for Northside Window is the City of Copenhagen’s History & Art department.

The opening event is shared with another installation, called STRUCTURE, by Danish YOKE, created specifically for the Upper Gallery.

DJ Christian d’Or will play soft tones at Nikolaj Plads from kl. 18 – 21, where there will also be a possibility to buy food and drink. Jameson Irish Whiskey offers free drinks from 19:00.

Speakers:
Helene Nyborg, artistic director at Nikolaj Kunsthal
Tobias Ebsen, Interaction Designer (YOKE)
Arthur van der Zaag, lighting designer

It’s free to join and everyone is welcome!
