Turning the town square into an interactive playground.
Enhancing the city’s livability through interactions with the various dedicated public spaces, including an interactive exhibition light wall.
The municiplaity of Egedal may be small, but has ambitious plans when it comes to activating their citizens to use their urban spaces. Building a new city as part of a greenfield project, Egedal wanted to not only encourage citizens to use the urban spaces, but also actively contribute to making the city livable, through interactions with the various dedicated public spaces. The two winning proposals from an Innovation Festival competition in 2015, submitted by young students, subsequently became part of the overall project, with the specific goal to transform the square behind the new Town Hall into an interactive playground and an electronic speaker’s corner/exhibition wall – allowing the users to be directly involved in controlling and directing the artificial lighting and sound around the square, as well as contributing to a planned electronic exhibition wall of art and stories.
The goal is to transform the square behind the new Town Hall into an interactive playground and an electronic speaker’s corner or exhibition wall, letting the users be involved in activating and steering the artificial lighting and sound around the square, and also contribute to an electronic exhibition wall of art and stories
